So, I'm in denial. My son is two years old today, and I just want to curl into a ball (well as much of a ball as I can with this big ol' belly in the way) and cry. I can't believe how fast the last 2 years have flown by. I also can't believe I'm about to be a mommy of TWO boys. This is all getting a little overwhelming!
What happened to the last 24 months?

Sleep? What's that
So, I'm not sure what has been going on with Riley lately, but we've had huge sleep issues. His doctor thinks they're night terrors (a little different from nightmares), and gave me some information about them which basically says they'll outgrow it sometime by age 12 (if we survive that long).
I'm starting to wonder though, could it be just another symptom of the terrible 2's?? He's been basically having temper tantrums in his sleep. He screams "no" over and over, and "I can't do it". He screams about his bebo (belly button) and kicks the blanket off then screams for the blanket to be put back on.
I'm so torn as to what to do. This has been going on for about a month or so, and I'm just not sure if he needs sleep training, or if it has something to do with the cold he had (now pneumonia), or if he is having these night terrors. I just feel so lost. We were up from 11:30 until after 2 am last night, and I'm just exhausted. It's also really hard to keep calm when you're 7 months pregnant, dead tired, and listening to screaming for over 2 hours!! I am starting to crack a little, and I'm not sure how I'm going to handle this with a newborn!

Poor Riley
I'm blaming the hormones for this one...
Riley is intelligent, not Albert Einstein smart, but still he knows quite a bit for a one and a half year old. Lately I've been worrying that we may not be able to provide him with what he needs. Hopefully this is all just silly nonsense and he's going to become a brilliant millionaire and take care of his poor mommy in her old age. But still, I've been amazed by his intelligence several times (so has his daycare provider so it's not just a biased mommy thing) and I just hope we can continue to stimulate him and guide him in the right direction.

To do...
We've been struggling with ideas for activities lately. I feel like there are so many things we can/should be doing, I'm just not very creative and feel so tired. So, we're going to go to the dollar store today (hopefully) and pick up some supplies. I am hoping to get inspired while there and hopefully we can find some fun new activities!! I'll post pics (eventually) if we are successful.
