I'm apparently not one of those moms who are good at managing my time. I don't seem to be able to take care of my 2 1/2 year old, my 6 month old, my husband, myself and still have time to post. Maybe if I had more interesting things to say I'd be around more. Lately, it's all I can do to form coherent thoughts in my own head let alone trying to make you understand my rants at the moment. Please forgive me and hopefully I will regain use of my brain and update you guys in the future...Rasklshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15176927805969087490noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4919016184952197527.post-69691679348727556062009-12-28T07:01:00.000-08:002009-12-28T07:10:44.334-08:00SorryWow, I can't believe how long it's been since I posted. I guess I haven't had much to say (or much time to say it in).
Christmas was a big hit. Riley was so into it this year. He saw Santa 4 times in the mall (well sat on his lap 4 times, we saw him many many more than that). He was adamant that he wanted golf, (Mickey Mouse golf clubs he saw at Disney Store) I was hoping he'd forget about them after a few days, but he stuck with that pick everytime he saw Santa or anytime anyone asked him what he wanted. So Santa brought him golf! Let's just hope he doesn't hit his brother with the clubs. At least they're plastic. He also got a Handy Manny tool bench from Grandpa, which is a huge hit. I just can't wait until he can build the items by himself. We've already built a birdhouse, a race car, a robot, and a toolbox. Now I just have to figure out where to put all their new toys! Or which old toys to retire.Rasklshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15176927805969087490noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4919016184952197527.post-19005736280243498072009-09-19T08:50:00.001-07:002009-09-19T08:50:14.737-07:00Exciting times in our house! Riley was given bunk beds from a friend of mine who's son decided he was too old for bunk beds. So we set them up yesterday, and Riley spent the whole night sleeping in his new big boy bed! He slept better than ever! Let's hope he loves it so much it becomes a regular event!Rasklshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15176927805969087490noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4919016184952197527.post-53427134193241086662009-08-27T13:25:00.001-07:002009-08-27T13:25:35.281-07:00I've fallen in love... with my two boys. My son is two years old today, and I just want to curl into a ball (well as much of a ball as I can with this big ol' belly in the way) and cry. I can't believe how fast the last 2 years have flown by. I also can't believe I'm about to be a mommy of TWO boys. What's thatSo, I'm not sure what has been going on with Riley lately, but we've had huge sleep issues. His doctor thinks they're night terrors (a little different from nightmares), and gave me some information about them which basically says they'll outgrow it sometime by age 12 (if we survive that long).

I'm starting to wonder though, could it be just another symptom of the terrible 2's?? He's been basically having temper tantrums in his sleep. He screams "no" over and over, and "I can't do it". He screams about his bebo (belly button) and kicks the blanket off then screams for the blanket to be put back on.

I'm so torn as to what to do. This has been going on for about a month or so, and I'm just not sure if he needs sleep training, or if it has something to do with the cold he had (now pneumonia), or if he is having these night terrors. I just feel so lost. We were up from 11:30 until after 2 am last night, and I'm just exhausted. It's also really hard to keep calm when you're 7 months pregnant, dead tired, and listening to screaming for over 2 hours!! I am starting to crack a little, and I'm not sure how I'm going to handle this with a newborn!Rasklshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15176927805969087490noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4919016184952197527.post-65606220783208439342009-04-02T11:41:00.000-07:002009-04-02T15:04:43.540-07:00Poor RileyI'm blaming the hormones for this one...

Riley is intelligent, not Albert Einstein smart, but still he knows quite a bit for a one and a half year old. Lately I've been worrying that we may not be able to provide him with what he needs. Hopefully this is all just silly nonsense and he's going to become a brilliant millionaire and take care of his poor mommy in her old age. But still, I've been amazed by his intelligence several times (so has his daycare provider so it's not just a biased mommy thing) and I just hope we can continue to stimulate him and guide him in the right direction.Rasklshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15176927805969087490noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4919016184952197527.post-5686997664968241252009-02-20T09:11:00.001-08:002009-02-20T09:14:00.959-08:00To do...We've been struggling with ideas for activities lately. I feel like there are so many things we can/should be doing, I'm just not very creative and feel so tired. So, we're going to go to the dollar store today (hopefully) and pick up some supplies. I am hoping to get inspired while there and hopefully we can find some fun new activities!! I'll post pics (eventually) if we are successful.Rasklshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15176927805969087490noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4919016184952197527.post-4309213851545352942009-01-30T09:10:00.000-08:002009-01-30T09:15:52.405-08:00SorryI know it's been awhile, things have been crazy lately and I just haven't felt much like posting. Riley is all boy, and such a rough and tumble kind of kid it was only a matter of time before he fell really good. So he got his first scraped up, road rash face. He was chasing Uncle Max around the backyard and tripped over his own feet and landed on his face.

Kinda hard to see the damage, it didn't photograph well...

Day 2:

Poor baby!Rasklshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15176927805969087490noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4919016184952197527.post-74939628808424422412008-07-17T09:02:00.001-07:002008-07-17T09:03:30.599-07:00Slideshow

We had some pics taken a couple months ago.
Here are some of my favorites...

Rasklshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15176927805969087490noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4919016184952197527.post-5054880695911913792008-07-09T07:36:00.000-07:002008-07-09T07:38:28.760-07:00Check these outA fellow June Mommy I know has begun making hats. I woke up late (who turned off the alarm clock), and then Riley was fussy, so I tried feeding him to see if he would go back to sleep (no luck) and so I have to do the getting ready for work dance while holding Riley. Not easy. Then I have no clean work pants (what was in those loads of laundry my husband did?), so whatever, I am wearing jeans to work, better than not going in at all right? So I'm running late and we get in the car, Riley decides he doesn't want to go and screams the entire way to grandma's house (luckily it's only 6 minutes A LONG 6 minutes but could be worse), then screams when I hand him off to his favorite Auntie, "whatever kid, bye" is my response (I know, I'm horrible). Hmmm... I have no gas, so I stop at the gas station, of course all the pumps on my side are taken, so I turn around to back up next to a pump and some idiot went in the out driveway to go to the same pump and instead of stopping at the back pump he pulls up to the one I was trying to back into (and there is no one behind him but I can't fit there), so I readjust and pull into another stall. Okay, I have a full tank. Now there are 4 stop lights between me and the freeway, and how many to I get stuck at? That's right all 4. So here I am, late to work, wearing jeans, drinking a cup of awful coffee, and wondering what's next, it's only 7:34 am???Rasklshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15176927805969087490noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4919016184952197527.post-57865929965116016792008-04-08T14:23:00.001-07:002008-04-08T14:27:13.285-07:00A Lab, I'm okay with that...<img src="http://files.dogster.com/images/quizzes/what_dog_breed_are_you/badge_lab.png" alt="What dog breed are you? Your sparky temperament and dogged intelligence mean you are not only a blast to hang out with, but great to work with as well. Your close pals appreciate your patience and forgiveness, knowing you'd rather let sleeping dogs lie than dwell on the mishaps of the past. Your dashing good looks may one day lead to a modelling career, if only you can tame the unfortunate clumsiness that sometimes causes you to go flailing from the catwalk.Rasklshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15176927805969087490noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4919016184952197527.post-71300014204382020422008-03-27T12:18:00.000-07:002008-12-10T03:50:02.418-08:00BordomOkay, so I'm supposed to be hard at work, and I just can't muster up the energy. So Riley's first Easter was fun. We went to the horse races (I know such a strange easter activity), and had dinner at Grandma's. Riley was kinda cranky, but that's Riley for you. Here is a pic of him in his Easter Outfit... (there are better pics, but he has a bib on and I want you to see his outfit)Rasklshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15176927805969087490noreply@blogger.com0
